The Initial Research Topic (IRT) is "a fast and furious way to to unpack the essential nature of research. It is an opportunity to dig deep into a randomly-assigned topic and present the most interesting or important aspect that you uncover through your own unique analysis." (from the SYP website)
My IRT Topic was THE CHUPACABRA (The Goat Sucker) Below, you'll find my six-slide powerpoint on the Chupacabra along with notes for my presentation. Even further below that you'll find my IRT-2 (My presentation consolidated into just 3 slides.) My research focused on eyewitness accounts and supposed discoveries of this cryptid. I asked, "Why does it seem impossible for the mystery surrounding the existence of the Chupacabra be solved once and for all?"
